Has Twitter been hacked? There is a shock to the claim that Twitter has been hacked on social media. The hackers allegedly leaked the email addresses of more than 200 million Twitter users and posted them on an online hacking forum. Saying that the breach could cause a lot of problems, a cybersecurity firm official stated that this is one of the most important leaks he has seen.

A new one has been added to the hacking allegations that worry Twitter users. A security researcher claimed Wednesday that hackers stole the email addresses of more than 200 million Twitter users and posted them on an online hacking forum. Here are the details…

Now everyone is wondering how Twitter or Elon Musk will respond to the hacking claim.

A major breach on Twitter could concern regulators in both the US and Europe. The Data Protection Commission in Ireland, where Twitter has its European headquarters, and the US Federal Trade Commission, are closely monitoring the Elon Musk-owned company.

There are no clues as to the identity or location of the hacker or hackers behind the breach. However, it is thought to have happened before Elon Musk bought Twitter (around 2021).

Troy Hunt, who runs the breach reporting site Have I Been Pwned, reviewed the leaked data and said it looked “pretty much as described.”

Reuters could not independently verify that the data on the forum is genuine and comes from Twitter. Screenshots of the hacker forum where the data emerged are circulating on the internet.

“The breach will unfortunately lead to a lot of hacking, spear phishing and doxxing,” said Alon Gal, co-founder of Israeli cybersecurity monitoring firm Hudson Rock, on LinkedIn, as reported by Reuters. He described it as “one of the most important leaks I’ve ever seen”.
